Jurassic Park III

You just have to wonder about theme park operators and giant, dangerous, prehistoric beasts. Haven't those guys seen those other two movies? Anyway, feast your eyes on this truly epic MOC by markus19840420, it's part of a collaboration with Disco86 and absolutely jaw dropping. Normally I would wait until everything was posted and then feature, but I was so blown away by this I had to share. Stay tuned for the whole collaboration coming soon.

Red Rocket Station

The anticipation for Fallout 4 is hitting fever pitch, and the MOCs inspired by it are already making their way online. This one by builder 'rolli almost slipped by it's so good. I genuinely skimmed right past it at first thinking it was just concept art, it was only the top of the rocket that caught my eye at the last microsecond. Wow, what a build and what a shot, perfect!

Epic Fallout 4 Diorama

Feast your eyes on this (and I hope they're hungry, it might take a while). Builder Pierre Import / T1MEK0DE has put together a truly colossal and stunning interior inspired by Fallout, and you're going to love it. Even if you haven't played the game (guilty) there's so much to like here it's worth the time to check out all the pictures. And if you're having a hard time judging the scale, find the minifigure hiding in there.

The Wall

This is truly epic. It's really hard to gauge the scale of this MOC by UK LEGO and history buffs Brick to the Past, unless you really scrutinize it. It's actually over 16 square meters in size! That's like the size of a decent bedroom. Or to get a better idea, it's built on 105 large base plates. The only thing possibly more epic is the subject matter, the wall. It represented the northern border of the ancient Roman empire way back when.

Hatched

Well these little dudes are in a heap of trouble. It turns out the eggs they found in a keep not that long ago have hatched, and some rather unique dragons have emerged. Or at least that's sort of the story, I find it difficult to keep up with all the castle lore you abundantly creative miscreants weave. But I don't find it difficult to admire a cool build, and these dragons are unlike any I've ever seen, almost feathered in appearance. Awesome stuff 'Ecclesiastes

Behind The Scenes

Here's a builder after my own heart. Not only is this large diorama Star Wars inspired, it's behind the scenes as well. Burglarhobbit brings us a little taste of what it takes to make a blockbuster movie, in this case The Force Awakens. There's tons of fun little details here, but my favorite has to be the cockpit on the motion base, awesome.

Feed Me!

I have serious mixed feelings on Little Shop of Horrors. On one hand I love Rick Moranis, Bill Murray and Steve Martin. And Audrey II is a crowning achievement in the possibilities of animatic creatures. But I have a hard time watching that movie. I think it's because my roommate tortured me with the soundtrack (that and Howard the Duck if you can believe it) for months, he loved it. But I certainly dig this MOC by Umm, Who?

Test Flight Preparations

This is gorgeous, it's like a scene from a movie. I love everything about this awesome shot by agaethon29, the build, the lighting, the composition, everything. I am instantly drawn in and want to know more about what's going on. Take note space builders, this is how to shoot your models for a cinematic or narrative presentation, beautiful!

Do You Think This Wise, Boy? Crossing Blades With A Pirate?

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a Pirates of the Caribbean fan (well, except maybe the third movie, that was a bit of a mess) and I'm downright proud to say I worked on POTC: On Stranger Tides. But in my opinion the first one is still the best one, and this MOC by vitreolum is one of the best scenes. There's a ton of detail packed into this little diorama, but not so much it's overly complicated. Like Will and Jack, it's perfectly balanced.

A Pretty Good Reason Not To Eat Out

If you knew what was going on in the kitchens at a great many restaurants you simply wouldn't eat there. In fact, you probably wouldn't set foot in the door. Luckily they are the exception (I keep telling myself that, I want to believe) but builder MinifigNick has a MOC of one of the places you don't want to be, before and after the arrival of the health inspector. I think I'll cook at home tonight.

The Circle Is Now Complete

I love this, for a few reasons actually. First of course it's Star Wars original trilogy, so that's pretty much an automatic. Second, I can appreciate how difficult it was to do, lighting and photographing a super dark set with dark figures is really hard. And lastly, it's just a damn good shot, great lighting, great editing and great composition. Nicely done Andrew JN!

You Enter A Large Chamber...

The torch light reveals little in the way of decorations or furniture as you cautiously enter. You cast your eyes about the room and see two skeletons, one hanging from the wall, this room has seen death. The pungent scent of decay and neglect burns your nose as you hear the faint drips of an unseen leak. A quick check for trap doors reveals nothing, so you continue your search. In a dark corner there's a chest...

The First Jaw Dropping Moment Of The Episode VII Trailer

I don't think I'll ever forget the first time I saw this moment of the trailer, recreated brilliantly by KevFett2011 here in bricks. I was at Star Wars Celebration, sitting on the floor in front of the LEGO booth (we couldn't get into any of the places the panel was being simulcast, but luckily LEGO streamed it to their jumbotron) and there was a sudden hush as the trailer started. The first shot fades up and there's a soft "oooh" from the crowd. But as the camera panned over and it became apparent that wasn't a mountain in the background. There was a palatable rush of energy in the room, a collective intake of breath and a million goosebumps erupted simultaneously around me. One shot and we were hooked.
